PSECU Helps Fund Four Diamonds Mini-THON
PSECU has pledged to provide $90,000 to Four Diamonds Mini-THON over the next three years. The funding from the credit union will help cover the costs of Mini-THON’s online fundraising platform. Mini-THON schools and participants can customize the platform and share with their personal networks to raise money for childhood cancer awareness and research. Read the full story.
Goldenberg Lecture Online
In case you missed it, Dr. David Goldenberg’s inaugural lecture “Of Thee I Sing: The Anatomy, Physiology and Health Benefits of Song” presented on Nov. 26 is available to view online at your convenience. Goldenberg is chair of the Department of Otolaryngology — Head and Neck Surgery.
St. Joseph United Way Campaign Nets $13,654
Penn State Health St. Joseph wrapped up its annual United Way campaign on Oct. 31 and raised $13,654, coming in just under its goal of $15,000. The funds benefit the United Way of Berks County and help reach its overall campaign goal of $10.9 million.
St. Joseph Charity Ball Raises $101,000
Penn State Health St. Joseph’s 2019 Charity Ball, “Jardin du Chateau,” on Nov. 9 raised $101,000. More than 300 guests attended the 92nd annual event at the Crowne Plaza Reading in Wyomissing, Pa. Guests enjoyed a silent auction, French wine pull, dinner and dancing to The Renaissance Orchestra.

Gingrich Featured For December in ‘Exceptional Moments in Teaching’
Dr. Dennis Gingrich, professor of Family and Community Medicine and Humanities, is featured for December in the “Exceptional Moments in Teaching” program. “Dr. Gingrich was an excellent role model and educator,” wrote one current student. “He took the time with every patient to help them learn how to better their health and conquer their disease.” Read the full story.

St. Joseph Breakfast With Santa Dec. 7
St. Joseph’s Bern Campus Café is hosting a Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 9 to 11 a.m. Prior to the event, admission is free to children under 2 years old, $3 for children ages 3 to 11 and $5 for ages 12 and up. Payroll deduction only. Employee ID is required. The price includes one trip to the breakfast line and a visit with Santa for photos (St. Joseph staff will no longer be taking and printing photos).
