Penn State Clinical and Translational Science Institute will present “Increasing Policy Relevance of Research” at the next session of the Bench to Bedside and Beyond Seminar Series from noon to 1 p.m. Oct. 25.
In addition to being held in Room H4504 at Penn State College of Medicine, the session will be streamed to 116 Henderson at University Park and will stream online. Online registration is requested; the online stream link is provided upon registration.
Charleen Hsuan, lead of policy impact in the institute’s Research Methods Core, will lead a panel discussion on evidence-based policymaking featuring Penn State faculty and staff discussing government and community relations, the Research Policy Collaboration Model, the Center for Health Care and Policy Research and the Evidence to Impact Collaborative. Those who attend will learn how researchers can partner with policymakers to promote evidence-based policies, barriers to these partnerships and ways to increase the policy relevance of research.
Panel members will include Penn State’s Sheilah Borne, assistant vice president of governmental health relations; Michael Donovan, director of policy and outreach, Administrative Data Accelerator; Dennis Scanlon, distinguished professor of health policy and administration; and Michael Stefan, director of state relations.
The Bench to Bedside and Beyond Seminar Series is held to encourage an engaged translational science workforce through panel discussions and practical application information.
